You are my sunshine..

At last I've been having enough time to sit down by the computer and share this with you!
It's been a lot to do and my finger's been itching to finally press "Publish" and show you what I've been working on this last month :D

This is it! I found the chart on Etsy, and it was so fun to stitch! There's two more in the collection (of course the verse has to be complete!) and I can't wait to stitch them as well. But for now, it's Sweet Shoppe that's taking the time, since I've started over with it, I've done 1200 stitches, it just takes so much time when you have to do it a second time..

Christmas misfortune?

Ugh. Woke up today and realized that I've been stitching Sweet Shoppe the wrong way.. I've been stitching the short side. And that's too short. And I just finished the first page.
So that's cut off now, and I've started from the beginning again. So frustrating.. :(

Fast stitching

Hi everyone!
So these days has just rushed by so fast! And so has my stitching!!
I've managed to reach 4000 stitches now, and these last two days I've only done about a hundred because of baking and shopping for christmas presents :D

Today I picked up my hubby's present since I've had it framed. It's so beautiful, and in just a few days I will be able to show you all! Really looking forward to it! :)

It has begun!

This Friday I finally got all the floss from Sharon, the sweet woman who gifted me Sweet Shoppe (and the floss). She had also kindly sent bobbbins :)

Since I wasn't home this Friday, and instead celebrating St. Lucy's Day (a wierd Scandinavian holiday represented by a person in a white dress with a red sash around the waist, and to top it off, a crown with candels on the head) watching movies the entire night.
But as soon Saturday came along I started with the bobbinating!
I finished Sunday morning, and just look at all the lovely colours!

And, of course, I couldn't hold myself for starting right away. yesterday when I went to bed I've reached 1600 stitches, I've never stitched so fast! The chart is really, really fun, and I just can't wait to keep stitching, and honestly that's exactly what I'm going to do right now!

Finally something to show!

It may not be that major of a thing to show you, but in lack of other pictures to share (like my christmas surprise that's going absolutely great and that I just can't wait to show you all) I got this in the mail today! :)
So right now I'm just waiting for the floss, that's on its way from US to me as we speak. Really can't wait to start Sweet Shoppe, it's gonna be amazing, I just know it!

I hope you're all having a great December, full of joy and cheer! My choir (and I of course) had a concert the 7th, it was a little nervous since it was my first performance and all, but it went great and I had so much fun! Next one will be the 27th, so we're rehearsing like crazy :)

Frustrated!

I must say that it's really frustrating to work on a piece and being really proud over it and not be able to show you guys in case my man sees it! Gah!
But well, it's going really good. Not today though, since he's been home from work in the morning. But he went away a couple of hours ago (already lost like 4-5 hours of stitching by then). Getting a teeny tiny bit stressed about getting it done til the 24th. (That's when we crazy swedes celebrate christmas and share our gifts).

Well, I've got roughly 2 hours done now, and that's it for today. Oh I just want to share my progress!!

Santa actually DID come early

..in form of a Sharon from US. This wonderful person sent me a Random Act of Kindness yesterday in no other form than Sweet Shoppe!!
And like that wasn't enough, she messaged me later and said that she's going to buy me the floss needed, as a part of the gift.

I don't know if it's because I'm swedish and we have a different view on humanity or something, but this is really beyond my understanding! I can't believe this is happening really.
Since me and my hubby are on a little tight budget right now, I wouldn't be able to start Sweet Shoppe for quite a long time if it wasn't for her kindness.. Oh, my heart just melts a little everytime I think about this.

Thank you so very much for your kindness Sharon, this really is incredible.. <3

HAED Cyber Monday!!

So HEAD is going to start their Cyber Monday tomorrow already.
50% off charts. I'm going to drown in them.. Or I hope I could, we're on a pretty tight budget right now, so my man is my supporting no-sayer at the moment. :(

At least I managed to talk him into letting me do one RAK; the Heaven and Earth Designs Group on Facebook has set up a list of people who wants to participate and I've been craving to make someone unknown happy, so this is the perfect moment!

Oh well, I was just jumping on to say hi and update on my thoughts and feelings and such. And so I have.
Since I'm working superhard on my Christmas Gift to my lovely man, Foxglove had to be set aside, so I don't really know when the next update is going to show up. Bare with me people!

Hope you've all had a great Thanksgiving! (the ones of you who celebrate it of course)

Time for Christmas presents

A little too late I figured out what to buy for my man for Christmas.
(and he doesn't read my blog so I can speak freely here)
(but in case he does, I'm not going to show the chart)

But, it's beautiful, simple, and the colors are amazing! I'm stitching on yellow (!) aida.
Just to show you how utterly great this is, I'm gonna let you on a little sneakpeak on my material. :)

Isn't it gorgeous? Can't wait to show you the finished piece..!

Santa's early

Well in this case, I'm Santa, so I'm early. And the gifts are for me.
So I guess "I just bought stuff for myself" is another way to put it..

Just ordered the last 65 skeins for Foxglove, more bobbins and another storage box! Finally there will be some colors in there (although I ordered from UK, so I guess I won't see them before christmas).
I'll try to remember to take a picture of the floss I have right now; It's almost all blue!

I love buying floss. Have you noticed that yet? Well, you will.

Page 2 - DONE!

So the day has come!
All you're wonderful comments and inspiration really gets me the will to keep on stitching; the last week I've felt like I've been a little slow on the stitches and haven't really gotten that  "YAY, LET'S STITCH"-feeling that I usually have. But all your joy helped me push to the goal and the second page has come to an end.
I must say that starting with the pin stitches also helped, before I always made a big mess of all the threads that had to be secured and so on.

Here comes a little photo of the progress; it's really starting to look like something now, and it's so fun to see all the details show up before your very eyes!

I've already started on the third page, so hopefully you'll get another update soon :)
Have a great day/evening and wish you will come back for more!

Pin stitches

Hi!
Was counting on giving you an update on Foxglove today, but yesterday I started reading about pin stitches, and that's what I've been doing today; practicing.
It's really a great way of securing threads, and it works really smooth. So if you haven't already tried it, you should!

I promise I'll give you the update tomorrow, that's when I'll be finishing off the second page!

I hope you all have a great Sunday, and I will see you tomorrow

Snowy day

The snow is finally here. Atleast for some time, it's to warm outside for it to stay on the ground, so it melts.. But soon.. soooon!

Since I'm new to blogspot I've been checking out a lot of stitching blogs out there, and gosh are you guys great! Everyone seems to be going for beautiful ornaments and small christmas projects now and I'm really jealous. Cross stitching is far more popular on your side of the globe; in Sweden we have a few web shops but that's about it.
I want to buy beautiful chart packs and pattern books and all of that. The sites from Sweden has mostly kits, and they're super expensive and often not worth the money at all..

But, it's snowing outside, I've got two seasons of LOST left to watch, and I've got my beautiful Foxglove Ball to do (even if it's not christmasy at all). I guess I'll manage.. :)

Sweet Shoppe!

Hi guys!
I just wanted to share with you this new HAED-chart that just came up on the website.

Sweet Shoppe is a work from Aimee Stewart, and I fell in love as soon as I saw it. My fingers are itching. It has to be done!! Mmmmh, I can't wait to get my hands on all that colorful floss..
How often do you buy new charts? And how many WIP's do you have? I have my Foxglove and the Hobbit Meals as we speak, although Hobbit Meals have been set aside a couple of weeks now; I'm having too much fun with Foxglove.

Something new

Hey guys!
Decided to fix my own header, I have no idea why I haven't done it before, it looks much better, I hope you think so too :)

The picture in the header is one of my earlier finishes, the last one before I found HAED actually.
It's lazy Monday today (woah, do people actually have these, you think now, why yes, they do) and after having trouble sleeping it's perfect for a day in the sofa with my Foxglove Ball.

Hope you're having a great day too!

Arrrgh!

So I went two hours car drive away today to shop with a dear friend of mine. We haven't met for almost a year so the happiness was a fact!

Anyway, it was time for me to buy some more floss. Not because I actually need it right now, since I have half a page left until I can start on the third page. But I love to buy floss, so I did it anyway.
When I got home after a day full of shopping, and I start to wind up the floss on my bobbins, I noticed that one of the colors was one number off.. Someone must've taken it and put it back in the wrong place.

Of course, all I have to do is order some more, but it just annoys me so much!

Progress!

I'm quite the slow stitcher. I've been stitching for about 10 hours divided over yesterday and today, and I've gotten about 400 stitches done.
I guess (or more like hope) that it's because I'm not used to this big projects, and that I'll get my speed up later on. But sometimes I just get frustrated and it feels like I'm getting nothing done in a lot of time. Do you ever feel that way? What do you do to ease that feeling?

Anyway, I think it's time for a new WIP-pic, looking at the last one I've actually come a long way (not at all talking against what I just wrote). It makes me feel a little better anyway.

As you can see, It's beginning to actually look like something now! And finally I get to do a little more than just blue, and blue, and blue. :)

Since I'm new at this platform, I'd love for you all to share you're blogs with me so I can follow you on your journeys!

Have a great day/evening/night or whatever it is when you're reading this!

Welcome to Blogspot!

Hey guys!
It's great to see that people visit me here too, since I broke it off with Wordpress when I heared from a mystic source that more of you stitching people joins up on Blogspot.
I've just getting started with all the gadgets and stuff, so bare with me for a couple of days now!

But right now, it's 9AM here in Sweden and I just got out of bed. I don't have any work scheduled for the rest of the week, so I'm going to fill my time with stitches. And that's what I'm going to do at this very minute (or the following, I have to start Netflix and get Lost going and all of that before I can settle down).

Are you guys watching anything when you stitch, and if so, what?

Who got time for this when there's stitching to do?! :(

A real stitching day

Hey guys, it's great to see some activity on the blog, people commenting (sure it's not a lot lot, but it's something, and that's better than nothing. It puts a smile on my face), I get visits everyday and that makes me want to keep updating more and more!

Today has been a real stitching day; I've been in the sofa for hours stitching away. I've reached my first confetti spot, I thought I reached it earlier, but that's nothing like this spot. I've got about 23 colors in a 20x20 square, it's threads everywhere!

Working on the 25ct takes some time, with the small squares it sometimes feels as if I'm not making any progress at all, even if I stitch for several hours.
If you feel like me I strongly recommend that you start taking photos everytime you put down your work for the day. That way you can really see your progress. :)

Foxglove is growing

WIP Foxglove

Hi guys! It's been a while since my latest update, but honestly, if I updated everyday, you wouldn't see any difference at all! ;)
But this is as far as I've gotten right now, it's about 6 000 stitches if I've been counting correctly; it's 25 ct evenweave so the grids on my magic guide fabric is 20x20 instead of the usual 10x10.

In other news I've started looking for some simple chrismas patterns, I want to get in the spirit. :) So if you guys have some awesome tips, feel free to share in the comment section!

Hobbit Meals

WIP lotr

Well, as I said, I'm working on a side project for the moment.
It's nothing more than a little hobbit inspired menu, but it's enough to put a smile to my lips everytime I see it!

I'm stitcing it on 18 ct aida, and it's a delight compared to the 25 ct evenweave my HAED is going up on :)

Sleepy Sunday

So it's been a really sleepy Sunday today, and the projects have been set aside to make room for the lazy part of me.
But, as you all know, tomorrow is yet another new day to fill with wondrous things. For me, I hope it will get filled with lots of stitches.. :)

Introduction

Hi!

My name is Sandra, and I live in Sweden. A big interest of mine is cross stitching, and since I just began on my first major project I figured that I wanted to do a major (or not-so-major) blog about it!

I found Heaven and Earth Designs through a Swedish facebook page, and it opened a whole new world of cross stitching to me.
Just a couple of days later I decided to buy my first chart. "Foxglove Ball" by Aimee Stewart, and that's the project I'm working on. I've been on it for a couple of weeks now and just finished the first page. Out of 125.
It's a lot of work, but I love seeing the color's blend, and I'm really looking forward to see the final product (even if it will be a couple of years from now).

Last week I also found my way on to Etsy, where I bought a smaller, not-so complicated Lord of the Rings-inspired chart to work on so I won't get bored with the bigger one. That one I might just show you later. :)

Well, that's about it for now, I'll post a WIP on Foxglove later.
I really hope I'll see you again!
